September 29th

loosening up, letting the weight of the pencil influence the width of the stroke, "feeling" the drawing

beginning to speed up, making quick cartoon like outlines for trees, thinking about the way some architects draw trees as plastic bags

zooming out a little bit

Had not drawn for many months, but probably more than a year with a pencil, and wanted to get some "chops" back while doing some observational drawing from a single vantage point. Did this three times three days in a row for a few hours each day. Staying in one spot ended up being an advantage because the repetition was so uninspiring that I was forced to invent things that were interesting to me to make it entertaining as well as the common experience of the longer you look at something, the more developed your drawing of it will be.
